I live and garden in southern Massachusetts (usda zone 6b/7a) and my garden changes throughout all four seasons. My videos showcase these changes and the challenges & beauty that come along with each season.
A busy mom of two working in the IT industry, I have found refuge in the garden. On evenings after work, weekends, and holidays, you can find me in my garden, improving my landscape one project at a time.
My love for gardening started when I was a little girl, watching my grandmother in her garden. I have fond memories of her beautiful Cosmos flowers each summer. I didn't have an opportunity to garden again until I had my own home as an adult. I started with a blank slate new construction that had no landscaping. With a small budget and big dreams, I set out to improve my landscape as best I could.
Each year, I taught myself more and more about plants and gardening; my yard was my teacher. Over time, I've slowly transformed my garden into my oasis. With over 12 years of gardening experience I'm still passionate about gardening and landscape-related projects. I can't get enough of it. I'm happiest playing in the dirt.
I am an active member of my local garden club, and if you're wondering where the "hooked" from Hooked and Rooted came from, it's the name of a tool used in my other hobby, crochet.

My multi talented husband who wears many hats. At times, George is my camera man, project coordinator and also my "Garden Assistant" who helps with creating new garden areas for planting. From digging large holes, helping with irrigation, to hardscaping, there's not much he can't do. I'm lucky to have him by my side.
My Italian Greyhound who has made some appearances in my @ home series on YouTube. He's our full time security guard and loves to hang around the kitchen when I'm cooking.
